There won’t be any blog post today. But to make up for that, I want to give a preview of what’s to come. With the MLB season wrapping up, I am using these off days from the blog to work on a bunch of MLB postseason blogs. Among them will be a playoff projection, my end-of-season awards, player rankings by position and a top 100 overall. I am also at work on a piece where I try and use advanced statistics to measure who the luckiest and unluckiest hitters in baseball are. Yes, I try and measure luck.
I also intend on doing the occasional non-sports related post. The one I am currently working on is a LONG one. It is basically everything you need to know about the Game of Thrones universe, which includes the TV show, the books the show is based on, and even some of the history George R R Martin created. Game of Thrones has been a big obsession of mine and I think I reference it enough in my blogs to justify writing about it on a sports blog. This one, however, won’t be released for a while (still will be released before Winds of Winter, though). It’s going to be about as epic as the books as well. I’m already 4,000 words deep and I’ve only gotten through explaining the storylines of Ned Stark and Tyrion Lannister thus far (with some background on the overall story as well). I’ll try and have it done sometime after the Super Bowl but before MLB Spring Training.
So again, apologies for the lack of content these last few days, but do know that it’s because I’m hard at work on some good shit, and definitely not because I got lazy and am currently stuffing my face with pizza and gummy bears.
